These terms govern your use of the 4Drive Jordan booking service. By completing a booking through our website, you accept these conditions in full. Please read them carefully before proceeding with your reservation.
4Drive operates an online booking platform for vehicle rentals in Jordan. We connect customers with local rental companies operating in Amman, Aqaba, Petra, Madaba, and other locations across the country. The rental agreement itself is formed between you and the local rental company when you collect the vehicle.
Your booking confirmation and voucher contain the contact details of the rental company assigned to fulfill your reservation. That company is responsible for the physical handover of the vehicle, the condition assessment, and the terms written into the rental agreement you sign upon collection.
We facilitate the booking process and collect the advance payment on behalf of the rental company. The local company handles vehicle maintenance, roadside support, damage assessment, and all operational aspects of your rental period.
When you complete a booking on our website, you receive a voucher containing the rental company's name, address, contact details, and your reservation reference. This voucher must be presented when collecting the vehicle, along with the required documents listed in the confirmation email.
The rental agreement is signed at the point of collection. The local rental company will inspect the vehicle with you and record any existing damage in the agreement. Read the agreement carefully before signing, as it forms the legal contract governing your use of the vehicle.
Specific terms such as mileage limits, fuel policy, permitted drivers, and geographic restrictions are stated in both your voucher and the rental agreement. Any discrepancies should be raised with the rental company immediately upon collection.
At the time of booking, you pay a booking advance by debit or credit card through our secure online payment system. This advance is processed immediately and confirms your reservation. We do not accept cash payments online.
The remaining balance is due when you collect the vehicle. The payment method accepted for the balance depends on the specific vehicle you have booked and is clearly stated in your voucher and during the booking process.
Some vehicles allow payment of the balance by debit card or cash. Others require a credit card. Check your voucher carefully. If you do not have the required payment method at collection, the rental company may refuse to release the vehicle, and the advance is non-refundable.
For customers who do not hold a credit card but have booked a vehicle requiring one, we recommend contacting your bank to increase the limit on your debit card before travel.
Most local rental companies require a security deposit at the time of collection. This deposit is held as a temporary authorization on a debit or credit card and is released after the vehicle is returned and inspected, typically within 14 to 30 days depending on the card issuer.
The deposit amount and the card type required vary by vehicle and are specified in your voucher. These conditions are set by the local rental company, not by 4Drive. Ensure you have a card with sufficient available balance or credit limit to cover the deposit amount.
The deposit is independent of insurance coverage or damage waiver products. It is held to cover potential costs such as fuel shortages, traffic fines, late return fees, or damage not covered by insurance. The excess or deductible remains applicable even when a deposit is not required.
All drivers must present a valid driving licence at the time of collection. Foreign licences are accepted in Jordan. An International Driving Permit is recommended but not always mandatory. Check the specific requirements stated in your voucher.
The minimum age and any maximum age limits are stated during booking and in your voucher. Additional drivers must be registered at the time of collection and may incur an extra fee. Each additional driver must present their own valid licence and meet the same age requirements as the primary driver.
The person named in the booking must be present at collection and must be listed as a driver on the rental agreement. Substitution of the named customer is not permitted without prior written approval from 4Drive.
Vehicles must be used in accordance with the terms of the rental agreement and the laws of Jordan. Speed limits are 50 km/h in urban areas, 80-100 km/h on rural roads, and 120 km/h on the Desert Highway. Right-hand traffic applies throughout the country.
Off-road driving is only permitted with vehicles explicitly designated as suitable for such use, such as 4x4 pickups or SUVs with high ground clearance. Sedans and crossovers must remain on paved or maintained gravel roads. Damage resulting from improper use is not covered by standard insurance.
Crossing into Israel requires prior written permission from the rental company. This must be arranged in advance and cannot be obtained at the border. Crossing without written permission voids all insurance coverage and may result in criminal charges. Contact the rental company using the details in your voucher if you require cross-border travel.
Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited. Smoking inside the vehicle may result in cleaning fees. Transporting illegal goods, using the vehicle for commercial purposes, or allowing unauthorised persons to drive voids the rental agreement and all insurance coverage.
Changes to your booking, including dates, pick-up location, or vehicle type, must be requested by email to [email protected]. Changes are subject to availability and may result in a revised price. We will confirm any changes in writing before they take effect.
Cancellation policies vary depending on the rental company and the vehicle booked. The cancellation terms applicable to your reservation are stated in your voucher. Refunds, if applicable, are processed to the original payment method within 14 days of written cancellation confirmation.
Late collection or failure to collect the vehicle without prior cancellation results in forfeiture of the advance payment. The rental company is not obliged to hold the vehicle beyond the scheduled pick-up time stated in your voucher.
4Drive acts as a booking booking service. We are not liable for the condition of the vehicle, the conduct of the local rental company, or events occurring during the rental period. Your legal relationship is with the rental company named in your voucher.
We make reasonable efforts to ensure that information on our website is accurate, but we do not guarantee the availability of specific vehicles or the accuracy of third-party data. Vehicle specifications, features, and images are indicative and may vary from the actual vehicle provided.
We are not responsible for delays, cancellations, or failures caused by events beyond our control, including weather, natural disasters, strikes, government restrictions, or technical failures. In such cases, we will work with the rental company to offer reasonable alternatives where possible.
Issues arising during the rental period, including vehicle condition, roadside assistance, or disputes over damage charges, must be directed to the local rental company using the contact details provided in your voucher. They are responsible for resolving operational matters.
If you are unable to resolve a complaint directly with the rental company, you may escalate the matter to 4Drive by emailing [email protected]. Include your booking reference, a description of the issue, and copies of any relevant documentation. We will review your case and liaise with the rental company on your behalf.
Complaints must be submitted within 30 days of the end of the rental period. We aim to respond to all complaints within seven business days.
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Any disputes arising from or related to your booking or use of our service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jordan.
The rental agreement you sign with the local rental company is also governed by Jordanian law. Both parties agree to submit to the jurisdiction of Jordanian courts for the resolution of disputes.
